Actually, I built the original structure, a 24 foot ferro-cement geodesic dome.
It's still there and serves as the dining area , high, bright and airy.
I raised my three kids in this structure. Emma's dolphins and orca's are still on her old bedroom wall.
In 2003-2004 I added a large addition, great living room, solarium, three bedrooms onto the five existing. There's more to enjoy. Radiant heated floors, jacuzzis , fire places that burn the wood I harvest from just outside the house.
It is a house in the forest, a house surrounded by trees, visited by the local wildlife, over a stream, close to our lakes. We ought to bottle the air. It's so clean and reviving.
On clear nights the stars are individual lights, thousands of them.
Yet we are 50 minutes from downtown Montreal . So urban life is accessible in short order.
As are the wonders of the Laurentians: The skiing, snowshoeing, dog-sledding in winter, the maple syrup harvest in the spring, the changing leaves in the autumn, the swimming canoeing and hiking in summer. The blessings of four distinct seasons !
