Detta värdefulla stenhus ligger på 110 tunnland bevarad Adirondack parklandskap. Det finns 4 sovrum (ett enkelrum, ett rum med två enkelsängar, ett rum med en fullstor säng och sovrummet har en drottning). Det finns 2 badrum, kök, vardagsrum och matsal samt TV-rum, uteplats och liten veranda. Det finns ett vardagsrum med bra storlek för grupper att samlas, matsalstolar 8 och fler stolar kan läggas till. Det är ett avlägset läge men bara 3 och en halv mil till den pittoreska staden Essex och ungefär en timme till Burlington VT, med färja, över sjön Champlain. Denna färja kör hela året och är värd att resa bara för att komma ut på den vackra sjön och verkligen se den.

Mitt hus är omgivet av gårdar och jordbruksmark och några exceptionellt vackra hem. Det har utsökt utsikt över de gröna bergen i Vermont, över sjön. Hemmet ligger 5 km från Essex centrum, NY, en stad i National Register of Historic Places. Essex ligger vid sjön Champlain och erbjuder sjöar, marina, Essex / Charlotte-färjan till VT och de pittoreska bostäder och butiker som ser mycket ut som de antagligen gjorde för 200 år sedan.

Det är lätt att nå Burlington VT med färjan - en 25 minuters resa.

Lovely, charming, wonderful home in beautiful setting

We had such an amazing stay at Porcupine Farm! The house is beautiful, even better than the photos. The host was incredibly responsive and made us feel welcome before we even arrived with lots of little tips and details. Kitchen was fantastic to cook in with good quality everything and a lovely space, bedrooms were cozy and sunny with super comfortable beds, and you could feel the history of the old house around you while still having all the modern comforts! Lots of nice touches. Absolutely lovely setting in pretty farmland near hiking trails, and the animals were so much fun! My family of animal lovers adored the friendly goats and the hilarious guinea fowl. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful home and location

I traveled with four friends so we were looking for four bedrooms and two bathrooms which this house has. In addition, the house is charming and comfortable for a group. Our first two days there were very hot, but the air conditioner in the living room and the fans made the house comfortable. We choose to cook meals in: the kitchen is spacious and completely equipped. The town of Essex is close-by and the ferry is a convenient, inexpensive and fun way to reach Vermont. For people looking for local foods, the Hub on the Hill and Essex Farm are close. I was looking for a charging station for an EV and found that Essex Farm has several which were regularly available at no charge. Thank you, Essex Farm. One day I was sitting in my vehicle while it was charging with another EV owner. A farmer said it was the first time two vehicles were charging at the same time. Audrey Sparre earns her Premium Host designation. She is accessible and helpful. During our stay rain and lightning storms moved into the area putting the dishwasher out of service. Audrey identified the issue and got it working. We have all agreed that it was delightful holiday.

Essex Splendor

Por-Q-Pine Farm was an amazing property and gets our highest recommendation. It was perfect for our family of six adults and three children including our furry family. So much room to move about, inside and outside. It was a mix of rustic decor with modern conveniences. Another plus was it was only 5 minutes to town and the ferry to Vermont. Once you got the "lay of the land", you found multiple places to visit nearby for vegetables, fruits, organic treats and groceries as well as nearby restaurants and cafes. Audrey was an amazing hostess, available 24 hours via text if needed and offered many suggestions for enjoying the farm and exploring around nearby towns. Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Audrey for making our family vacation a memorable one!!!

I am so in love with the Adirondacks and have spent quite a bit of time up here over the years. Having this home was a dream come true. I live on the property and move back and forth between the 2 dwellings depending on whether the house or the barn is rented.

Varför värden valde detta boende

It was love at first sight. I have friends in the area, went to college nearby and was in the Adirondacks for summer camp as a child. I was browsing real estate listings one night online and found it. I saw it in person and was hooked!

As it turned out, the place was even better in person than the photos and that's how I came to own it. I have never looked back and have only joy for this wonderful area and the home. There are two rental properties at this site and both are listed. I move from the house to the apartment or vice versa, depending on which one is rented. I am usually on the property and available always by text/phone/email, if needed.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

This is a serene place surrounded by beauty yet it is so close to of all types of excitement. There are well maintained hiking trails within walking distance, you can take the ferry to Burlington for restaurants and shopping or hop the train to Montreal. I think that's what drew me here--the absolute beauty of the location AND the proximity to Burlington, a wonderful and very accessible city. The whole food movement is in full swing up here which I find fascinating and is another enjoyable attraction. In the town of Essex, there is a wonderful yoga studio and spa as well, Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness.
