Parents and 2 kids slept comfortably and had ample space. That’s where the positivity ends. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was the door was extremely hard to unlock. Next thing we noticed was a puddle of water in the kitchen in front of the freezer side of the fridge. The ice maker and water was dripping and condensation down the front of the fridge. We tried to get some ice. A few cubes slowly fell out. We tried the water. Black specks poured out along with the water. Upon further inspection the ice dispenser and water spout are completely covered in mold and mildew. Unusable and unsafe. We dealt with buying ice and bottled water the entire week long trip. Next thing we noticed within an hour of arriving were items left by previous tenants. What’s the cleaning fee for? I shouldn’t find items. Also, under and behind all the furniture is completely disgusting with thick dust. Also, mold and mildew in the shower. Again, what’s the cleaning fee for? I brought up all these points with the office first thing the next business day. They fixed the lock. Well, that’s something, I guess.
The property is pretty well maintained. Pretty crowded though. I know it’s summer. There’s 3 buildings. So it just depends on what you’re preferences are. But if it’s social distancing, it’s not here.
The beach has eroded so badly there’s hardly space. Not the condos fault, just nature. But again, depends on what you’re looking for. The beach is the most important part of a beach vacation. Yes? This stretch of beach is just ok. Will the kids have fun? Sure. Can you relax a bit? Probably. Is it anything to write home about? No. I’ve seen much prettier stretches of beach on Perdido. If we had been made aware of the erosion, we would have chose somewhere else.
Also, if you think you’re getting a “private beach” think again. The wrist bands they give you just for the pool. You will have people from the public beach down on your small strip of beach in front of the condos you paid for.
Your mileage may vary. I’m sure there’s some really nice condos here. But it’s not this one. This one is minimally adequate.
