My husband and I spent three amazing weeks in paradise. The home is situated in the perfect place for hiking, siteseeing, swimming and exploring Tenerife. The best part was having the ocean as our front yard. It may be at the tip of the island, in a quaint town but it offers a taste of the canary islands which we would never have had if we stayed in a resort. Umberto, owner of the Rincón de Anada, welcomed us like family. Dinners there were deliciously canary...walking on the beach to get back home will always be memorable for us. There were times we preferred to cook, so we took a short walk to the local store where Maria, the owner, stocked fresh fruits and vegetables from her farm. What more could we ask for in paradise. Many sunsets we spent on the rooftop sipping our wine looking out to Gran Canaria on the horizon...watch the moon rise and gaze at the stars. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of waves in the ocean and the cool breeze coming into our bedroom. Even from Iqueste, we hiked Mt. Teide and parts of the Anaga mountains and explored the quiet towns of Taganana, Benijo, Chamorga and Chinamada. This house and town is for those who are adventurous and seek to commune with nature...make friends with the locals...and rediscover the natural beauty that surrounds us. We plan on returning to Paradise and highly recommend this house and town.
