Short break

My husband, myself & dog stayed for a week. We were visited by kangaroos & native birds everyday. The cottage was comfortable & had everything we needed. Our dog enjoyed the 5acres to run & play frisbee & we enjoyed sitting back taking in the beautiful view of Pambula lake & enjoyed the peacefulness. The property is located within a 15 minute, easy drive to the picturesque town of Pambula, where you can find everything you may need. Jeannette was an amazing host; very responsive & friendly in communication. We were supposed to leave on the Saturday morning, but Jeannette offered us an extra night, so we wouldn’t have to do the long drive home in inclement weather. This was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to have privacy & a quiet peaceful vacation.

Nice simple accommodation

Communication with Jeannette was so easy and she was very responsive to any message we sent her. The local wildlife was a delight to watch and the view was beautiful to wake up to every morning. Short drive to so many amazing beaches and easy to get to any shops we needed. House was cozy and there wasn't a huge amount of storage space but we made it work. Location was quiet and peaceful and away from the busy towns and beaches over the Christmas period. Thanks Jeannette 😊

Broadwater tranquillity, with a stunning view

A really great property, rustic holiday house in living room/kitchen, modern bathroom, kingsize beds. Really relaxing with plenty of room on 5 acres. Great getaway but nice and close to townships of Eden, Pambula and Merimbula. A great base to explore the coast.

Thistle Dome

We had a very relaxing 5 days at Thistle Dome - a perfect location , overlooking the lake and a great base for exploring the beautiful far South Coast.The house is very clean , comfortable and well stocked with all the essential items. Our two dogs loved the spacious grounds as well as dining at Oaklands cafe , a doggie friendly cafe with excellent food. We really appreciated the peaceful , natural environment and hope for a return visit. Thistle Dome/us - definitely! Thank you Jeannette

I work as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor in Yarraville, a suburb in Melbourne's west. It's the friendliest place I've lived in since coming to Australia from Dublin and I love it. My interests are broad but my greatest one is reading - more than Twitter feeds. I may be one of the last people to remain unaddicted to the thief of our focus and time, the so-called Smartphone. Of course I love spending time in what I call Paradise, the Sapphire Coast of NSW. My place in Broadwater NSW 2549 - there's more than one Broadwater. It overlooks Pambula Lake and feeds my sense of peace and tranquillity. I enjoy travelling to Europe, to my homeland Ireland and that of my husband, Greece. Paris is the most beautiful city I've ever seen and I've always found French people to be warm, welcoming and patient with my French which gets rusty through non-use.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The reasons for buying this property are simple. I didn't even look at the house on it. I bought the million dollar view. I plan to build on the five acres when I retire. The property was rented out to various families until I reclaimed it in 2014, as our go-to place for getaways with family and friends. I have a photo of the view from the living area as wallpaper on my laptop. No photo can do it justice but it's uplifting to see it.

You're not going to be awestruck by the architecture! This is a simple brick cottage. You'll love the sunny outlook, the clean and spacious bedrooms, the newly renovated bathroom and kitchen. It has that 'holiday house' feel to it. Nothing precious - a place in which to relax and revive your spirit.
The place is all about the view.
So much so that I had new floor to ceiling sliding doors installed to take full advantage of the view from everywhere in the living area.
No, it's not right on the beach front but that's what I love. I have the privacy, the quiet tranquility of the birds and the kangaroos and other animals without the noise of the other humans.
