Cotswold Period Cottage i en by med pub på 5 minuters promenad. Stor trädgård

Stugan byggdes omkring 1840 och ligger på en återvändsgränd väg, så ingen trafik. Totalt renoverat 2010 som ett land reträtt för sin ägare, det har modern centralvärme, nya badrum, handgjorda gardiner och ett nytt kök utrustat med högsta standard.

Betygsatt 4 * GULL av English Tourist Board 8 år i rad.

Traditionell karaktär har bevarats med djupa fönster, balkar, en traditionell vedeldad spis och Rayburn (Aga) spis och ett urval av antika bilder. Vi tillhandahåller även gratis loggar för elden!

Det är en fem minuters promenad till en traditionell engelsk pub med utmärkt mat. Rullande Cotswold-landsbygden kan ses förbi de traditionella bytakstaklinjerna på baksidan.

Det finns en stor stuga trädgård med uteplats, barb-b que och uteservering. Fluffiga handdukar och toalettartiklar ger den extra bortskämda känslan. Det finns ett omfattande urval av böcker och till och med några barnböcker och leksaker för den perfekta reträtten i landet.

A lovely weekend

Perfect location to enjoy the area from. Cottage is lovely and cosy. Beds comfy, sitting room cosy and having three bathrooms a great bonus. Fantastic views from the upstairs bedrooms and the village is stunning. Would recommend the cottage highly and would love to return. We were very lucky with the weather which meant we saw the village at its best as well as surrounding locations but our only negative feedback for a stay in the area, which has nothing to do with this cottage specifically, is that The Lamb Inn in the village. It wasn't what we expected having heard about it on a previous visit to the area but having failed to make it there that time. It seems it has changed hands and to be honest the staff were not overly customer focussed. We have a few tales to tell from our evening meal there!!! We all said that our meals were tasty which is the main aim, but the place was lacking atmosphere, there was a massive TV with football on in the bar area, which I guess is great if that's what you want and they actually switched off the lights in one section after the table based there left.....time to leave cue I guess except it was only 930.....to be honest it's worth going further afield to find a more cosy experience. A shame as people had spoken so highly of it. Still it was entertaining for the wrong reasons and definitely didn't spoil a lovely weekend.

Relaxing stay

A lovely English cottage in a typical Cotswold village. The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well equipped with good outside space when the weather is warm. We would return and would certainly recommend.

Cottage Home

We really like the Great Rissington area. House it very cute. We only stayed 2 nights, but I could see it being used for more nights to truly unwind. We actually didn’t realize there was a “secret garden” past the gate in the first back yard until our second day. We enjoyed just sitting in the backyard and watching the clouds go by (we had amazing weather). Our only negative is one of the bathroom toilets didn’t work which was ok because there were only 4 of us and 3 bathrooms. Also, sad we didn’t ever get to eat at the lamb inn. If you want to eat there make a reservation. The first night we tried to eat there at 8:00 pm and the cook had left. The second night they were completely book. So had to drive 15 minutes to dinner, when a simple walk to dinner would have been so nice. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

I have an obsession about personal service, not just machines with endless tape recordings an options and waiting 20 minutes to be answered!

I always make sure that I or my agents are available at the end of my mobile if needed. My motto is "personal holidays with personal service".Almost 1000 guests a year now stay at my holiday homes. The average rating of over 250 online reviews is 4.9! I try to deliver consistency and quality.

We are all from London. I am a retired banker and my wife is a doctor. We started buying holiday homes because we were consistently disappointed with the quality of other places when we started renting self-catering places as a young family. Hotels didn't offer proper flexibility for small kids, and self-catering was either very basic or ridiculously expensive jetset places.

Our children are now 18,17 and 14, but the business has grown as we found that others like our choice of locations and standards. Some of our guests have stayed in all five of our holiday homes, sometimes 3 or 4 times in the same one.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The most important factor is the village. Many properties are listed in busy tourist villages such as Burford or Bourton. We wanted a genuine farming village, not a tourist place, but one that had all the charm of a Cotswold village, with pub, church, etc.

The property is an unusual blend of feeling like a very traditional cottage, but properly modernised, yet not losing any of that tradition. It is quiet, there is lots of parking and a large garden.

See the comments about the village above! the 15th century pub is just five minute's walk away. The church is more than 1000 years old, there are Norman graves in the church yard. Visit the tapestry of the village beneath the bell tower and you can find the cottage woven into it!

The cottage is furnished with appropriate furnishings and lighting so that it feels like a country cottage. There is even a library of books to enjoy.
