Bo i Chincoteague och simma, vandra, cykla, drake, fågelskådning etc. i Assateague. Vårt hem är bekvämt beläget på Chincoteague's Piney Island, utsedd fågelreservat och porten till Assateague Island National Seashore. Oavsett om du cyklar till stranden varje dag eller hänger hemma på däck kan du njuta av nedsänkning i naturen när det är bäst! Detta moderna hus har nya underbara trägolv i en öppen planlösning vardagsrum matsal, färsk färg, nya fläktar, ombyggda master bad och sovrum, nytt gasutbud och många andra uppdateringar.

Vårt hem har tre sovrum. Det stora sovrummet ombyggdes i år med en ny drottningssäng, madrass, golv, lampor, färg etc. och masterbadet ombyggdes förra året. Sovrummet har också en platt-TV. Vårt andra sovrum "aprikos rum" har en queen size-säng.
Vårt tredje sovrum, med två enkelsängar, ”turkosrummet”, uppdaterades med färg och nya sängar och madrasser under 2012. Aprikos- och turkosrummen delar en hall med ett komplett badrum med badkar för barnen.

Vårt hölje, som ligger intill köket, har en fullfällbar futon och avskärmad bakdörr. En skjutdörr till köket gör att du kan sova integritet. Den är också bra för barn. Vi har spel (monopol, äpplen till äpplen, uno, scrabble) i det röda skåpet och krita och en krittavla är inställd för din lilla underhållning medan du fixar frukost!

Vårt kök är fullt utrustat ät-in med gasspis, diskmaskin, vattenkokare, mikrovågsugn, kylskåp med frysskiva, mixer, espressomaskin, brödrost, ny seriefläkt etc.

Den öppna planlösningen vardagsrum och matplats är verkligen en stor familj "utrymme" utrymme med katedralen tak, öppen spis, soffa, bekväma solstolar, w / kabel-TV / DVD / video-spelare. Matsalen vetter ut mot bakdäck, tallar och utsikt över Assateague Island medan stora bildfönster i vardagsrummet översvämmar huset med ljus.

Utanför finns en ny sluten dusch med varmt och kallt vatten för sköljning efter en dag på stranden, en stor uppfart för bilar, en Weber kolgrill för matlagning och nytt uteplats matbord och stolar.

A good week

We have a very good time in this house. It’s near the bridge to the beach, in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The only problems were before we arrived. The owner sent an additional contract for cleaning and a security deposit a few days before we left for the vacation, which said that it was due weeks ahead of time. That was a bit of a surprise. I remind guests to bring not only sheets but towels, dish towels, and dish cloths, as well as trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Sandpiper House - 5 Stars

My family stayed at the Sandpiper House in Chincoteague. We've visited the island many times, but this was the first stay at Sandpiper. We have three teenage daughters and everyone had plenty of space. The beds are new and comfortable, the A/C worked amazingly well given the intense heat and humidity, the shower water pressure was wonderful, and the closet and dresser space plentiful. One thing I really appreciated was the well appointed kitchen, which is often a struggle in vacation rentals. Plenty of parking, perfect location, private, and VERY close to the beach access road. My only comment about the house was that it would be wonderful to have had a washer and dryer. It was not in the listing that a W/D was an amenity, I just assumed it was - my fault, and I didn't pack accordingly. But that would make the house perfect. Our hostess was wonderful, responsive and kind, even when I accidentally broke a lamp while cleaning. We hope to visit Sandpiper again. We loved it.

A lovely getaway

We had a wonderful time in Chincoteague and very much enjoyed this home away from home. The decor is coastal and very nicely done. The beds! I was so relieved the beds were comfortable. Location worked out well for us, as it is right between Chincoteague “proper” and the wildlife refuge. Very wooded and private feeling. We would return 🙂

My husband, daughters, grandchildren and I enjoy this house immensely! We started coming here when the girls were little, they are now full grown with children. We live in Garrett Park, Maryland and love to come to Chincoteague to relax and enjoy the quiet island life. A regular day in Chincoteague for us is going for a bike ride around the nature reserve to the beach, swimming and playing in the water, followed by some relaxation on the deck with a glass of white wine and an amazing seafood dinner,

We love this house and are really happy to be able to share it now with brand new floors, new paint, and many other upgrades!

Our family has been vacationing in Chincoteague since the early 1970s. We first owned a house in town on Chicken City Road, but when the Maddox family decided to sell Piney Island, we jumped at the chance to build a little house in the Piney woods. With my own children now grown, we have a new tradition of bringing our young grandchildren here to enjoy the magic and beauty of Chincoteague. While much of the beach towns of the eastern shore have changed quite a bit over the last 40 years, so much of what makes Chincoteague unique and special-- the wildlife refuge for bird and pony-watching, the quiet peacefulness, the 'fishermans-town' feel of Chincoteague, remain the same.

Our house is located on Piney Island, a15 min walk/5 min. bike ride from the entrance to Assateague National Seashore. It is close to everything (restaurants, the best bbq place on the island, surf shop, bike rentals, family dollar for essentials) and yet Piney Island is remote, quiet peaceful. There are very few parts of Chincoteague that are this relaxing and mellow.

The house itself is surrounded by pine trees. At night you'll hear the trees whispering in the night breezes and see the lighthouse flashing from across the channel. You are one street from the water!

For kayaking and boating, the Piney Island community has a boat launch right down the road a short 5 minutes away. The Assateague Channel is also about 500 feet (stones throw) from the house, so though you are not right on the water, you are always surrounded by the fresh salt air and cool breezes.
