My two adult children and I rented Seas the Day to be close to family coming to Cape Cod for the Christmas holidays, 2018. For a winter retreat, when you spend a lot of time indoors, it offers the perfect amount of spaciousness, bright natural light, and warm comfort. In the mornings, we loved the living room, with its large windows that bring the outdoors in, for coffee and conversation in our PJs. We enjoyed it just as much in the evenings working on a puzzle and debriefing about the day. I've stayed at plenty of vacation rentals, and have learned the difference in the details. Everything here made us feel like valued guests while at the same time very much at home. We really felt the owners cared that we had a good night sleep with quality mattresses, that we deserved to enjoy tasteful furniture, adequate lighting in the right places, and stylish decor minimally appointed. Every room was spotlessly clean. We always rent with a mind to cook as a group and entertain, and the kitchen here did not disappoint. It accommodates all the cooks, has quality appliances, a variety of pots and pans and plenty of them, a robust supply of cooking utensils and bowls, cutting boards, and clean-up supplies. To top it off, we had flown in from San Francisco and were prepared to go without decking the halls this year, but we were warmly welcomed by a small tree, some decorations, and stockings hung by the chimney with care! When I visit the Cape, I look for sanctuary. This house is located in a quiet neighborhood tucked away from the hustle-bustle, but close to stores, beaches, and nature walks. The attached garage was a bonus for coming and going on the rainy, cold days. A few weeks prior to our arrival, Kim sent an email with recommendations for holiday events and activities on the Cape, and she was quick to respond to questions I had. All in all, Kim really raised the bar on vacation rentals for us!
