It has everything we wanted when looking for the right spot to build a house and believe me it took a couple of years of searching to find it. It is situated on a very quiet unmade road where a ‘busy’ day means maybe eight cars a day will pass very slowly by. The village of Sfakera is a two minute walk away and the Café Neon is frequented by locals and occasional tourists who want to sample an authentic village bar that serves food and a full range of drinks.
The views from the villa are beautiful, stretching as they do across the valley below, to the resort of Roda and onward over the sea with passing ships and boats, to the panoramic vista of the Albanian mountains at the front. To the rear are olive and Cyprus tree laden hills, with more trees to one side and some way over, a large villa to the other that does not overlook the property. Watch the sun setting from the front balcony as it drops into the ocean to be replaced by a galaxy of stars in the night sky.
Roda is short drive or fifteen minute walk away and offers an ATM, local shops beaches, water sports and any number of tavernas. Archarvi, the largest town outside of Corfu town, is five minutes away by car, just around the headland, and boasts a small museum, opposite a small archaeological dig, an array of shops numerous bars and restaurants town side or beachfront, beaches and water sports. The water park is on the edge of the town on the road to Kassiopi . Medical facilities and pharmacies are available in both Roda and Acharavi.
To sum up; whatever mood you are in, be it in need of a quiet, away from it all relaxing holiday by the pool, or sea swimming and beach activities, walking, sightseeing, shopping, sailing along the magnificent coast line, eating out or a drink in a local bar, this place has them all.
