We stayed here with our two sons on a cooler rainy weekend in August. The town is an easy walk so we didn't need our car at all and we ate at many good restaurants, played mini golf, and did a boat tour. One night we had a fire. Each unit has a fire ring which was great! In terms of Lake George not cottage related-If traveling with kids on a warmer summer weekend keep in mind that all of the public beaches close at 6pm. Our kids are older so had it been a hot weekend that would have really of been a bummer but just plan accordingly. We also watched the fireworks on Thursday night right around the corner from the cottage. The only thing we didn't love about the cottage is that there is one mini split to cool the whole place. It wasn't the end of the world but on the warmer night even with both bedrooms open it still wasn't super cold in the bedrooms. One had a fan at least but the other didn't. If we were there with another couple we wouldn't have liked keeping our doors open. That is the only thing though! We were in cottage #1. The local neighbors were very nice and gave us a lot of tips about things to do with the kids. We had a great time!
